Why We Built This
In early 2024, we were building an AI-powered SaaS product. After a successful launch, we received our first monthly OpenAI bill: €8,700 — triple our forecast.
We had no visibility into which features cost what, which users consumed the most tokens, or how to optimize our model selection. We spent weeks manually parsing API logs and building internal dashboards.
We realized: If we're struggling with this, thousands of other developers must be too. That's when API Cost Monitor was born.
